Misc Tax List and Census all States all Glisson spellings 1790-1830

I have listed the tax list  for various years below.  Also all Federal Census records from 1790-1830.

These list are from the internet and are in various formats.  The intent is for a researcher to be able to find their ancestor and then use the info to know where to go to get the actual census record to get more precise info on them and then to know where to look for other ancestors for the individual.  These list were taken from ANCESTRY.COM.  I pay a monthly fee for limited access to genealogy records with Ancestry.com.  There are several price ranges for different levels of access.  On several of the list below if you are a member of Ancestry.com you can click on census record to get more info about a particular record.  Some are just listed as head of household.  I could not put all pertaining records on list below so if you find ones you really want more info on you can join Ancestry.com for online info or find actual census record from your closest genealogy library.

In the below list I have included the following possible spellings for Glisson.

(Glissan, Glissen, Glissin, Glisson)---(Glisan, Glisen, Glisin, Glison)---(Glistan, Glisten, Glistin, Gliston)---(Glifsan, Glifsen, Glifsin, Glifson)---(Glessan, Glessen, Glessin, Glesson)---(Glesan, Glesen, Glesin, Gleson)---(Gilsson)---(Glysson, Glyson)

I believe most are mis-spellings of Glisson.  (Gilsson probably is Glisson just written dislexic)  (Glifsan, Glifsen, Glifsin, Glifson is Glisson or Glisan, fs was used for double s.  My line used this spelling in Pennsylvania.)  (Glysson, Glyson seems to have been used for New England Glissons)  (Glissan, Glisan was used by descendants of Thomas Glisson of Ann Arundel Co. Maryland)  (Some that started with GLES were Glissons but most were probably from the Gleason family.  I did not look up the following spellings, (Gleason, Gleeson etc. the ones that sounded like they should be Gleeeeeeson).  To sum up I believe that most with the same Soundex as Glisson were from either the GLISSON or GLEASON families with many various spellings.

I also have some of the same info listed with the References and Genealogy for Glissons within the various states.  Most of those listed within the states I researched years ago the actual census reels at the Library which took a lot of time and effort.  I was not able to find all possible Glissons for all possible spellings.  However I put notes on them as to which families I thought they should belong to.  Now with the internet it is easier to research census records that to Ancestry.com and companies like them.  However you have to pay for the access.

I do suggest anyone who wants to serious do census research to join        http://ancestry.com/
